Honoring a living tradition: U.S. Iaido practitioners prepare for Japan, November 10–15, 2026.

Some journeys are measured in years of dedication. For the practitioners preparing to visit Japan this November, the destination is also an opportunity to continue learning and share a tradition with fellow dojos.

The USA Kempo Team has shared news that members of U.S. branches of Tenshinsho Jigenryu Iaido schools will participate alongside Japanese dojos in the Tenshinsho Jigenryu Iaido Temple Exposition at Kashima Jingu in Kashima, Japan. The dates provided to Musashi are November 10–15, 2026.

A gathering centered on tradition

The planned exposition features traditional Japanese Iaido and Kenjutsu. Our coverage will focus on the participating schools, their preparation, and the experience of coming together with practitioners in Japan.

This Japan event is an exposition. It is separate from the Pan-American Kempo Championships in Argentina, and different members will participate in the two November journeys.

Recognizing the people behind the practice

Public appearances offer only a glimpse of a practitioner's commitment. Behind them are repeated lessons, attention to detail, and the willingness to keep improving. Those human stories are at the heart of this campaign.

As the team shares approved photos and reflections, we look forward to introducing our community to the people participating and what this opportunity means to them.

Why this story matters to Musashi

Our community includes collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate Japanese-style swords, craftsmanship, and the traditions surrounding them. Recognizing the people who continue to study these arts is a meaningful part of that appreciation.

We extend our best wishes to the U.S. participants and the Japanese dojos taking part in the exposition.
