From the Musashi Gold Masaru Series comes this intricately hand crafted “Umigame” Katana. Kobuse-kitae hand forged technique combining 1060 and 1045 high carbon steel resulting a beautiful and resilient blade with a unique hamon pattern. With hard steel wrapped around soft steel, the Umigame Katana is both strong and flexible.

The detailed Maru Gata style brass tsuba depicts the “Umigame”, or sea turtle swimming through the tsuba. It also features brass Fuchi and Kashira. Rare blue color theme really compliments the Umigame tsuba, like the blue ocean that the sea turtle is swimming in. Saya is covered with high gloss blue coating and the tsuka is wrapped in blue cotton over real ray skin.

A unique feature is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to wield the katana better and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.

Included with this katana is a maintenance kit to make sure your katana lasts a lifetime as well as a premium sword bag, deluxe gift box, Certificate of Authenticity. Each sword is individually numbered on the tang.
