Musha "47 Ronin" Katana

From the Musha Collection comes this intricately hand forged “47 Ronin” Katana. Full tang 1045 high carbon steel makes this a resilient katana that is razor sharp right out of the box.

The story of the 47 Ronin also known as Chushingura, tells the story of 47 samurais who became ronin because their master was forced to commit seppuku. The loyal ronin waited and planned for 2 years before getting their revenge by executing the person responsible for their master’s death. Upon achieving revenge, the 47 ronin turn themselves in to the authorities knowing fully they will be punished by committing seppuku. The legend of the 47 ronin is among the most famous historical stories in Japan.

The 47 Ronin katana is a Traditional black color themed katana with Kiku Gata style tsuba.

This blade features integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to wield the katana better and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.

All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. Kiku Gata style Tsuba, Fuchi, and Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set. Real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.
