From the Musha Collection comes this intricately hand forged “Musashi” Odachi. Full tang 1045 high carbon steel makes this a resilient katana that is razor sharp right out of the box.
Traditional black color themed Odachi with a tsuba designed by the Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi.
Arguably the most famous Japanese swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi was undefeated in 61 duels. He is a unique swordsman that utilizes double bladed swordsmanship. Not only was he a great swordsman, Musashi was also a philosopher and a writer. In his final years he authored “The Book of Five Rings” Which dealt with his practical martial arts and its significance.
An ōdachi (large/great sword) was a type of traditionally made Japanese sword used by the samurai class of feudal Japan. In terms of practicality, the Odachi has two main uses. Ceremonial and infantry sword. Ōdachi are difficult to produce because their length makes them more complicated, but they were very popular during the Edo period. During the Edo period Odachi was seen as a fashion, commonly seen in various ceremonies.
This extra long blade features integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to wield the katana better and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.
All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. Mokko Gata style Tsuba, Fuchi, and Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set. Real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.
Included with this Odachi is a maintenance kit to make sure your katana lasts a lifetime as well as a sword bag and a deluxe gift box.

What is the difference between “Musha” and “Musashi” swords?
The primary difference between Musha and Musashi swords lies in the materials and craftsmanship:
- Musha Swords: These are more entry-level or budget-friendly swords, typically made with less expensive materials. They are perfect for beginners or those looking for a functional yet affordable sword.
- Musashi Swords: These are higher-end swords, crafted with superior materials and greater attention to detail. They are often favored by collectors or martial artists seeking top-tier performance and aesthetic value.
Both Musha and Musashi swords are functional, but Musashi swords offer a premium experience with higher craftsmanship.
