From the Musha Collection series comes this intricately hand forged “Hiryū" 飛龍 Katana. Full tang Damascus Pattern steel makes this a resilient katana that is sharp right out of the box.
Traditional black color themed katana with a Kaku Gata style tsuba. The detail tsuba depicts a flying dragon in the clouds that surrounds the blade which represent imperial strength, power, and luck for those who are worthy of it. This strong sword has a beautiful Damascus pattern on the blade that makes it stand out from the rest.
This blade features integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to helps reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to weld the katana smoother and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.
All Musha swords are able to be fully disassembled. Kaku Gata style tusba, Fuchi, Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set. Real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.

The blade on this sword wasn't so bad. The tsuka came with very loose wrapping and cotton ito. The knot holding the kashira came apart on the omote side. The tsuka will need reshaping as it was very 'boxy'. I'm also rewrapping the handle with synthetic silk and changing the fuchi/kashira. Luckily, I can work on it myself.
